Gustavo Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bicuela's Gustavo Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Rodrigues in the 11th minute of play. If David Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Rodrigues in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Bicuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Amaral to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the game, Laurentino Gouveia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bicuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Almofala the free kick. After 26 played minutes Bicuela got a freekick which was hit by Laurentino Gouveia. Gustavo Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After a rather tough play, Bicuela's Elias Quirino got a free kick in the 34th minute. When SC Almofala's David Freitas in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bicuela's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 44 minutes, Mauro Gama managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bicuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Gama was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Rodrigues in the 47th minute of play. David Freitas struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Gustavo Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Almofala.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim Rodrigues made a kick off. In the 55th minute Mauro Gama shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Delgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustavo Araújo was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and David Freitas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. David Freitas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. David Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Gustavo Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th match minute, Bicuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Quirino to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, David Freitas notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Bicuela's Gustavo Araújo. Gustavo Araújo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Heitor Brandão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vasco Delgado having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Bicuela's zone, Joaquim Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Araújo came out of the goal and Joaquim Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Heitor Brandão came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Bicuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heitor Brandão couldn't finish the play. Mauro Gama received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Vasco Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Rodrigues in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustavo Araújo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Gustavo Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute Joaquim Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Almofala's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
