After 43 played minutes, Gansaria's Eurico Tristão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hermano Mesquita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gansaria reached it. Hermano Mesquita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marco Nunes went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerónimo Bragança to make the kick off. In the 84th match minute, Gansaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Espinosa to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Gansaria defense, Jerónimo Bragança kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leal Portela. The Gansaria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leal Portela should have stopped the shot.
