The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Armindo Leal to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, FC Rapide's Armindo Leal made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cândido Avelar was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Gonçalo Falcão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vítor Baia was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Cândido Avelar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Alberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Cândido Avelar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 95 played minutes Lobatinhos got a freekick which was hit by Matias Pacheco. The Lobatinhos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Rapide were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
