The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Luís Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Moisés Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 played minutes SC Campanario got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Seixas. Moisés Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Nogueira in the 25th minute of play. André Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Vieira in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Gouviaes's goalkeeper André Rodrigues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Belchior Seixas. The crowd rose to their feet as Belchior Seixas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving André Rodrigues. That made the score 2-0 in the 33 minute of play. In the 38th minute, Belchior Seixas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vítor Rocha hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Vieira in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Rodrigues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Belchior Seixas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Severino Vieira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of André Rodrigues. The goal made the score 3-0.

When Severino Vieira fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Campanario's protests and gave Severino Vieira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Campanario getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Severino Vieira hit a great ball. Pedro Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Vasconcelos having to interfere. Luís Nogueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Moisés Vasconcelos made a huge save. SC Campanario's Moisés Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Monteiro in the 66th minute of play. Moisés Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Belchior Seixas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. André Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Nogueira got free with Moisés Vasconcelos in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gouviaes's André Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Vieira in the 91st minute of play. In the 95th minute, Vítor Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Belchior Seixas in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Rodrigues saved Gouviaes from getting behind. Moisés Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Monteiro in the 97th minute of play. Gouviaes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
