Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) SC Assencada's Maurício Freire started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandrino Mansilha during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alexandrino Mansilha kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Afonso Sesimbra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Bernardo Teves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, SC Assencada's goal looked a bit too open when Januário Nunes came free, but Bernardo Teves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Reborica FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Raminhos to maneuver through the defense. Valdemar Chagas kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Afonso Sesimbra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Bernardo Teves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Maurício Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Januário Nunes made a kick off. Severino Rijo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Rebocho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, one of Reborica FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Reborica FC. Vivaldo Saraiva shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Joel Rebocho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Assencada's Maurício Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reborica FC's Severino Rijo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Rebocho in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute Maurício Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Rijo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Afonso Sesimbra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reborica FC's Januário Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Maurício Freire sped through Reborica FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Severino Rijo. Severino Rijo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Rebocho went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When Joel Rebocho came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the SC Assencada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Rebocho couldn't finish the play. SC Assencada's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
