With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Jesus in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Barroso saved SC Manadas from getting behind. When Sálvio Festas fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Manadas's protests and gave Sálvio Festas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Eiravade booed when SC Manadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sálvio Festas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Jesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. António Barroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Pinheiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Amável Leão. António Barroso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Jesus went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of SC Manadas booed when Eiravade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dércio Chagas struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Alexandre Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Manadas. In the 30th minute, Heitor Póvoas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alexandre Pinheiro, passed just outside the right post. António Barroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Jesus in the 35th minute of play. António Barroso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Jesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Roberto Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Manadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Miguel Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dércio Chagas to make the kick off. Reginaldo Leite's late challenge caught a Eiravade's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reginaldo Leite helped the player get up and apologised. Reginaldo Leite hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. If Rui Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 58 minutes, Miguel Jesus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eiravade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Jesus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Manadas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 66 minutes, Eiravade's Alfredo Maia got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of António Barroso. If Heitor Póvoas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rui Luz got free with António Barroso in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miguel Jesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. António Barroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 88 played minutes Eiravade got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Andrade. The corner led SC Manadas's Fábio Trindade to fire away a dangerous shot which Alexandre Pinheiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Manadas's Amável Leão got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 96 minutes into the game, Fábio Trindade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Manadas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eiravade the free kick. A collision led to SC Manadas getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Fábio Trindade hit a great ball. In the 99th minute of the match Eiravade got a corner. SC Manadas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Maia ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SC Manadas's goalie and right to Diogo Lisboa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SC Manadas's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Eiravade's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
