Domingos Pedroso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Dimas Sarmento hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Joaquim Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Jorge Lustosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Regatos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Lima came free, but Jorge Lustosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Manuel Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Lustosa. Regatos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dimas Sarmento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Cristóvão Anjos made a huge save. After some careless play in the SC Miradeses defense, Domingos Pedroso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristóvão Anjos. The SC Miradeses fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristóvão Anjos should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Cristóvão Anjos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimas Sarmento in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, SC Miradeses's Sérgio Paredes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Lustosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristóvão Anjos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimas Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
