Alberto Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fábio Matos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pascoal Mendonça having to make a save. Pascoal Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Garcia went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute Alberto Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascoal Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alberto Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Sport Lisboa e Bi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Garcia couldn't finish the play. Pascoal Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fábio Matos was the one to do the kick off. Despite this Pascoal Mendonça quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Académico de Viseu's Pascoal Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Barbosa in the 55th minute of play. Emílio Aires hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Alberto Garcia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Pascoal Mendonça skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Fábio Matos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pascoal Mendonça came out and tried to block the shot, but Fábio Matos slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 76th minute. Alberto Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Inácio Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Pascoal Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fábio Matos struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Pascoal Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Lisboa e Bi.
