João Viegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Guarda in the 10th minute of the match. When Alexandre Resende came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Academia RNC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Resende couldn't finish the play. After 21 minutes, Gonçalo Sá mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia RNC and the Meixedos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Academia RNC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Gonçalo Sá hit a great ball. Fabiano Fraga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Lúcio Vaz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Meixedos's Jerónimo Couto broke free in the 25th minute of the match and struck a powerful long shot that almost became a goal, but instead the ball went outside the right post. Alexandre Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Viegas having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Meixedos's zone, Alexandre Resende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Viegas came out of the goal and Alexandre Resende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Alexandre Guarda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia RNC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Guarda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Resende in the 46th minute of play forced Meixedos's goalkeeper João Viegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Falcão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Alexandre Guarda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving João Viegas. That made the score 0-2 in the 52 minute of play. Alexandre Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. João Viegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Meixedos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Fraga to maneuver through the defense. Academia RNC played a much better game than Meixedos and deserved their victory. The Meixedos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
