With a little luck, S.C.BENFICA's Heitor Moniz got control of the ball when Hamilton Caneira tried to sneak it across the goal line. S.C.BENFICA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Adelino Silveira scored to the left of an out of position Heitor Moniz, making the score, 2-0. In the 26th match minute, S.C.BENFICA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Jesus to maneuver through the defense. Heitor Moniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Belo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Mariano Reis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Mariano Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Adan Osmundo came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the S.C.BENFICA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adan Osmundo couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Adelino Silveira could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which Heitor Moniz however easily saved by the left post. Adelino Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Heitor Moniz made a huge save. S.C.BENFICA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by João Leão in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adan Osmundo made a kick off. S.C.BENFICA's Heitor Moniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Belo in the 53rd minute of play. Gusmão Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adan Osmundo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, S.C.BENFICA's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Belo came free, but Heitor Moniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gusmão Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Adan Osmundo sent off a good shot on target.
