After a defensive mix-up in Real Norte FC's zone, Marcelo Carvalheira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Faro came out of the goal and Marcelo Carvalheira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Albertino Maia fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Norte FC's protests and gave Albertino Maia a yellow card for diving instead. SCMurteira's Marcelo Carvalheira got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind SCMurteira's goalkeeper André Eiró, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Carvalheira to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Real Norte FC got a freekick which was hit by Albertino Maia. Real Norte FC's attentive Albertino Maia managed to snatch the ball when Mateus Pessoa made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. Marcelo Carvalheira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristiano Faro having to make a save. After 68 played minutes, Real Norte FC's Rodrigo Gonçalves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper André Eiró came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Norte FC reached it. Miguel Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Miguel Miranda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but André Eiró was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
