To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Duarte Reis in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Olavo Taveira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Adelino Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo Taveira having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Reis in the 23rd minute of play forced Monfebres FC's goalkeeper Olavo Taveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aquilino Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Olavo Taveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Reis in the 28th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Laureano Viveiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monfebres FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Laureano Viveiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heitor Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elias Lopes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Duarte Reis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olavo Taveira. Monfebres FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Duarte Reis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 60 minutes of play, Ribeiros FC's Duarte Reis made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olavo Taveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Elias Lopes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heitor Silva having to make a save. Monfebres FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adelino Miranda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. When Joaquim Caetano came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Monfebres FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Caetano couldn't finish the play. Ribeiros FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
