Alfredo Lemos ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in AD Marretas's zone, Frederico Ferrão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Graça came out of the goal and Frederico Ferrão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Pereira in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Graça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 13th minute, Humberto Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reginaldo Quaresma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 played minutes AD Marretas got a freekick which was hit by Durval Albuquerque. In the 22nd minute, Joel Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Graça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederico Ferrão went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 27th minute Durval Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Bragança saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in AD Marretas's zone, Joel Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Graça came out of the goal and Joel Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Reginaldo Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Graça having to interfere. Daniel Graça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Pereira's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Daniel Graça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Pereira in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute, Alfredo Lemos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Geraldo Pinhal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute of the match Aprígio Barroso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniel Graça skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Pereira made a kick off. If Joel Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th match minute, AD Marretas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Santana to maneuver through the defense. Cristiano Bragança showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltasar Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Armando Belém took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Daniel Graça. AD Marretas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Joel Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Armada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th minute Joel Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Graça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Pereira did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Daniel Graça 72 minutes into the match. The supporters of AD Marretas booed when SC Armada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Aires might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristiano Bragança. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcos Aires ran back to his position shaking his head. Joel Pereira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 81stth minute, Daniel Graça skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 83rdth minute of the game Joel Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AD Marretas's Daniel Graça was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Durval Albuquerque charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Durval Albuquerque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Armada booed when AD Marretas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durval Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Pereira got free with Daniel Graça in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humberto Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Pereira in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Daniel Graça, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. SC Armada played a much better game than AD Marretas and deserved their victory. The AD Marretas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
