Futebol Clube do Porto's supporters rose to their feet, but Américo Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Januário Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Macedo in the 7th minute of play forced Cercio's goalkeeper Januário Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10thth minute of the game Américo Macedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cercio's Januário Domingues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eduardo Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Herberto Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Américo Macedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Januário Domingues made a huge save. Abel Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herberto Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herberto Figueiredo in the 27th minute of play forced Futebol Clube do Porto's goalkeeper Abel Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herberto Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Filinto Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Futebol Clube do Porto's Abel Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herberto Figueiredo in the 39th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Américo Macedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Américo Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Eduardo Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filinto Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Abel Nunes made a huge save. The supporters of Futebol Clube do Porto booed when Cercio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herberto Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute of the match, Herberto Figueiredo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Abel Nunes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Abel Nunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herberto Figueiredo in the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cercio's goalkeeper Januário Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Cercio booed when Futebol Clube do Porto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bento Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the game, one of Futebol Clube do Porto:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Filinto Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Abel Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard, long distance shot from Emanuel Correia flew over the goal. In the 98th minute, Jorge Conde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Januário Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Américo Macedo in the 100th minute of the match. Cercio succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Futebol Clube do Porto had controlled the match.
