Jairo Ornelas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Mota in the 14th minute of the match. Virgílio Mascarenhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Virgílio Mascarenhas struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jairo Ornelas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SL Tiago. Pedro Coelho's late challenge caught a SL Tiago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Coelho helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Alfarrobeira getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Pedro Coelho hit a great ball. Jairo Ornelas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Lustosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Jairo Ornelas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurício Lemos in the 20th minute of the match. SL Tiago's Alexandre Portugal got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Virgílio Mascarenhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Portugal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jairo Ornelas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half SL Tiago were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Maurício Lemos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jairo Ornelas. That made the score 0-4 in the 51 minute of play. Afonso Lustosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Ornelas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Jairo Ornelas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Mascarenhas in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Maurício Lemos notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Alfarrobeira's Jairo Ornelas. Jairo Ornelas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Lustosa in the 74th minute of play. When Virgílio Mascarenhas came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the SL Tiago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgílio Mascarenhas couldn't finish the play. Virgílio Mascarenhas spun around in front of the goal 84 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Alfarrobeira's goal. If Afonso Lustosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Portugal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Ornelas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgílio Mascarenhas's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Mascarenhas in the 94th minute of play forced Alfarrobeira's goalkeeper Jairo Ornelas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sílvio Tomé charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Tomé the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Alfarrobeira getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Sílvio Tomé hit a great ball. SL Tiago played a much better game than Alfarrobeira and deserved their victory. The Alfarrobeira players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
