The supporters of Futebol Clube do Porto booed when Maragota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maragota's Bernardo Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Guerreiro in the 26th minute of play. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Filipe Vaz sped through Maragota's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Lima.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filipe Vaz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Filipe Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maragota's Bernardo Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 56th minute, Tiago Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Filipe Vaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardo Lima was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Bernardo Lima stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Guerreiro's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute Miguel Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cláudio Barbosa's late challenge caught a Maragota's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cláudio Barbosa helped the player get up and apologised. The throw-in from Abel Guerreiro in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Futebol Clube do Porto's José Moutinho. The Maragota supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Futebol Clube do Porto's performance. The match ended with a win for Futebol Clube do Porto.
