Nicolau Madruga struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Saúl Passos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Aires. Anselmo Balsemão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amável Amaral in the 13th minute of play. If Nicolau Madruga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lúcio Valentim's late challenge caught a SC Aires's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lúcio Valentim helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st match minute, Leoverpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Valentim to maneuver through the defense. After 22 minutes, Jacinto Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leoverpool and the SC Aires players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Leoverpool:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Aires:s goal. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Amável Amaral put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Anselmo Balsemão. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amável Amaral in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Balsemão saved SC Aires from getting behind. With his leg Saúl Passos managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when SC Aires's Gregório Cesário fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Anselmo Balsemão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amável Amaral in the 44th minute of the match. After 47 minutes SC Aires's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Diamantino Sesimbra who took care of the corner kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicolau Madruga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SC Aires booed when Leoverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Fragoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Saúl Passos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. SC Aires's Anselmo Balsemão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save SC Aires from getting a goal against them. Valério Rego's late challenge caught a Leoverpool's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valério Rego helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Leoverpool booed when SC Aires was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério Rego didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nicolau Madruga came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the SC Aires fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolau Madruga couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Aires fans cheered their team off the field, for while Leoverpool had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
