An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamilton Lemos in the 20th minute of play forced SC Bustos's goalkeeper Armindo Ferro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 played minutes SC Pieres got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Resende. In the 25th minute, SC Pieres's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ricardo Pedroso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilson Amado in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armindo Ferro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gil Valente tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Armindo Ferro. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-1 in the 35th minute. Rui Campos's late challenge caught a SC Pieres's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Campos helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes SC Bustos got a freekick which was hit by Rui Campos. In the 39th minute of the match Elias Costa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armindo Ferro skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Wilson Amado managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Pieres's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilson Amado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armindo Ferro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Hamilton Lemos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Pedroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Jorge Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Honorato Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Bustos had won after a very even match.
