The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Lusitano booed when SC Deimaos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lusitano's Tomás Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Braga in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lusitano's André Coimbra got a free kick in the 13th minute. After having played for 16 minutes, Abel Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lusitano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artur Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Lusitano's Tomás Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomé Paixão in the 25th minute of play. Cristiano Braga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomás Gaspar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Abel Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lusitano's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juvenal Carvalhal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomás Gaspar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano Braga went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 34 minutes into the match, Lusitano's Hugo Almeida sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juvenal Carvalhal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caetano Baiano in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juvenal Carvalhal saved SC Deimaos from getting behind. Lusitano's Tomás Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adérito Teves in the 47th minute of play. After the first half SC Deimaos were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Caetano Baiano made the kick off in the second half. If Abel Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Caetano Baiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juvenal Carvalhal. SC Deimaos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caetano Baiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Abel Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Carvalhal having to interfere. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Caetano Baiano sped through SC Deimaos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juvenal Carvalhal. 68 minutes into the match, Lusitano's goal looked a bit too open when Adérito Teves came free, but Tomás Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Tomás Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomé Paixão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caetano Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juvenal Carvalhal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lusitano reached it. SC Deimaos's Juvenal Carvalhal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Melo in the 80th minute of play. Abel Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 87 minutes into the game, Cristiano Braga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Tomás Gaspar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 92nd minute, Abel Melo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aldaír Bento during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aldaír Bento hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Lusitano were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
