Spectators: 6651 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sven Vennerdal got the match started through his kick off. F.C. dos Mortos's João Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Silva in the 4th minute of play. F.C. dos Mortos were furious when José Pedroso was red carded, 6 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of F.C. dos Mortos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Trofa:s goal. Ramiro Almeida walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Jorge Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Abel Santos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Trofa's Norberto Quaresma. Norberto Quaresma was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulino Silva in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, F.C. dos Mortos's João Almeida got control of the ball when Nuno Barcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Trofa's Horácio Almeida got a free kick in the 25th minute. Abel Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Norberto Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norberto Quaresma having to make a save. F.C. dos Mortos's Jorge Guarda got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norberto Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Roman, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

51 minutes into the match, Trofa's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Guarda came free, but Norberto Quaresma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rui Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Abel Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. dos Mortos's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Quaresma breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nuno Barcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. João Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Markus Schoel during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to F.C. dos Mortos getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Sven Vennerdal hit a great ball. If Jorge Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Rui Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Abel Santos succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 84th playminute. In the 87th minute, Paulino Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Almeida was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 95 minutes of play Trofa's Horácio Almeida was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
