Futebol Clube Vilar's Filipe Balsemão got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermes Godinho had great luck who in the 34thth minute grab hold of the ball when Hugo Malafaia from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Hermes Godinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Malafaia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Adriano Trigueiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, FC Arouca's Olavo Borba tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 49 minutes of play, FC Arouca's Durval Serpa made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hermes Godinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Angelo Viana hit a great ball. Hugo Malafaia struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Hermes Godinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Arouca. After some careless play in the Futebol Clube Vilar defense, Durval Serpa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hermes Godinho. The Futebol Clube Vilar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hermes Godinho should have stopped the shot. FC Arouca's Hugo Malafaia got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rdth minute of the game Hugo Malafaia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Futebol Clube Vilar's Hermes Godinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hermes Godinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durval Serpa's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Malafaia in the 89th minute of play forced Futebol Clube Vilar's goalkeeper Hermes Godinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermes Godinho came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Arouca's Nivaldo Viveiros. But to his dismay, Nivaldo Viveiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Filipe Balsemão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
