When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Laércio Borba sped through RJeronymo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Teófilo Vilar. Valério Granja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 9 minutes of play, RJeronymo's Claudemiro Porto made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorge Bulhosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gervásio Sacadura charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gervásio Sacadura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Gervásio Sacadura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, RJeronymo's goal looked a bit too open when Máximo Meira came free, but Teófilo Vilar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yuri Vilela during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jorge Bulhosa came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by RJeronymo's Hamilton Montenegro. But to his dismay, Hamilton Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 47th minute, Veigas Sport's Valério Granja dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilson Brito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, RJeronymo's Matias Montenegro got a free kick in the 54th minute. Hamilton Montenegro's late challenge caught a Veigas Sport's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hamilton Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes RJeronymo got a freekick which was hit by Hamilton Montenegro. Matias Montenegro hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the game, Laércio Borba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Teófilo Vilar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 75 minutes into the match, Máximo Meira notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of RJeronymo's Teófilo Vilar. Teófilo Vilar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. RJeronymo's Teófilo Vilar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Brito in the 79th minute of play. RJeronymo succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Veigas Sport had controlled the match.
