SC Ribeiradio's Sérgio Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Mourão in the 8th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Severiano Vilalobos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Cantinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Ribeiradio the free kick. The supporters of SC Ribeiradio booed when SC Cantinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Vilalobos didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Cantinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Mourão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Teófilo Lameirinhas fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cantinho's protests and gave Teófilo Lameirinhas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Ribeiradio booed when SC Cantinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teófilo Lameirinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Raul Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Rafael Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

49 in the game SC Cantinho's Carlos Vidal showed how dangerous he can be in front of the goal when he by his own managed to get a clear opportunity for a shot. The following shot went just left of the goal. Sérgio Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Mourão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raul Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Lúcio Cesário made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Raul Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Ribeiradio's supporters rose to their feet, but Raul Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Cesário showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Delgado in the 68th minute of the match. Rui Sacadura struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Sérgio Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Cantinho. Lúcio Cesário made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Delgado in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, one of SC Cantinho:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Cantinho. In the 89th minute there was a penalty for SC Ribeiradio. Manuel Reis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lúcio Cesário. 1-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Ribeiradio had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
