António Varela hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. A collision led to Aboboreira FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Hipólito Modesto hit a great ball. Silvano Brandão was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Óscar Amaro. The audience was convinced that Valério Igrejas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Faria was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the match, Aboboreira FC's goalkeeper Silvano Brandão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basílio Nogueira. After a rather tough play, Aboboreira FC's Severiano Sacadura got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martinho Rebocho in the 20th minute of play forced Ronqueira's goalkeeper Jorge Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ronqueira's Basílio Coimbra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Silvano Brandão. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. 26 minutes into the game, Paulo Delgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ronqueira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aboboreira FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ronqueira's Paulo Delgado got a free kick in the 27th minute. Silvano Brandão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Coimbra, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Basílio Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ronqueira's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio Coimbra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvano Brandão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silvano Brandão made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Francisco Coelho sent off a good shot on target. If Basílio Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Aboboreira FC's Adão Águas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Faria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adão Águas to make the kick off. Jorge Faria was a little too slow when Adão Águas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. 60 minutes into the match, Basílio Nogueira notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Aboboreira FC's Silvano Brandão. Silvano Brandão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Basílio Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvano Brandão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Basílio Nogueira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvano Brandão was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. When Basílio Coimbra came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Ronqueira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Coimbra couldn't finish the play. After 76 played minutes, Ronqueira's Vítor Moutinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvano Brandão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ronqueira reached it. Francisco Coelho struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Silvano Brandão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ronqueira. Basílio Coimbra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvano Brandão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severiano Sacadura during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Aboboreira FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Severiano Sacadura hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Nogueira in the 84th minute of play forced Aboboreira FC's goalkeeper Silvano Brandão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 minutes, Martinho Rebocho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aboboreira FC and the Ronqueira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th minute, Martinho Rebocho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute Basílio Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvano Brandão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basílio Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basílio Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Brandão having to interfere. Ronqueira were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Aboboreira FC for a fine match.
