The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Dantas got free with Máximo Prates in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Máximo Prates showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Fiúza, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Herberto Cortez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, botafogo f.c's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Fiúza came free, but Máximo Prates reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belchior Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Raminhos in the 44th minute of play. Germano Vilhena hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, botafogo f.c's Roberto Eiró tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Belchior Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herberto Cortez in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gil Raminhos made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Trapiche's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Raminhos came free, but Belchior Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64thth minute of the game Adolfo Fiúza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but botafogo f.c's Máximo Prates was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 66 minutes into the match, botafogo f.c's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Dantas came free, but Máximo Prates reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 played minutes Trapiche got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Quental. Gil Raminhos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belchior Salgado having to interfere. Belchior Salgado stood somewhat misplaced when Gil Raminhos came free in front of goal and shot 0-1 to the left of him in the 80 minute. Adolfo Fiúza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máximo Prates having to interfere. Máximo Prates showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Fiúza, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Gil Raminhos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
