After a defensive mix-up in Calmar FC's zone, Peter Sánchez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Gomes came out of the goal and Peter Sánchez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alcantara's Panagiotis Kalergis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafim Eanes in the 25th minute of play. Joaquim Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Pacheco in the 36th minute of the match. Adão Trigueiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Panagiotis Kalergis firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Paião in the 39th minute of play forced Alcantara's goalkeeper Panagiotis Kalergis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Serafim Eanes made a precise shot to the right of Panagiotis Kalergis. Alcantara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuno Pacheco got free with Joaquim Gomes in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
