Octávio Vasques struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Álvaro Guarda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pipe FC. After a rather tough play, Malhadais FC's José Figueiredo got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 27th minute Francisco Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Pipe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Campelo to maneuver through the defense. After 33 played minutes, Malhadais FC's Paulo Domingues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anselmo Passos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Malhadais FC reached it. 34 minutes into the match, Pipe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Machado came free, but Anselmo Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gastão Ferreira in the 37th minute of play forced Malhadais FC's goalkeeper Álvaro Guarda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Lemos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Guarda having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Octávio Vasques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Francisco Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gastão Ferreira made a kick off. Anselmo Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Vaz in the 53rd minute of play. If Domingos Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Anselmo Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domingos Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Passos having to interfere. Octávio Vasques hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pipe FC's zone, Francisco Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Passos came out of the goal and Francisco Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Anselmo Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, Pipe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Sardinha to maneuver through the defense. Domingos Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Anselmo Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domingos Vaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Passos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Álvaro Guarda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Lemos in the 79th minute. Anselmo Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Vaz in the 80th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Francisco Machado notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Pipe FC's Anselmo Passos. Anselmo Passos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 90th minute, Domingos Vaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pipe FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Malhadais FC.
