Spectators: 7180 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 15) Rui Pinhal made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 2ndth minute of the game André Pimenta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Vila Nova's Emílio Mourão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 4th minute of the match, Enzo Vides got a very nice opportunity to score, but Emílio Mourão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Emílio Mourão made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Enzo Vides sent off a good shot on target. Enzo Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Emílio Mourão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Fc Vila Nova defense, André Pimenta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emílio Mourão. The Fc Vila Nova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emílio Mourão should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Vila Nova's zone, André Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Mourão came out of the goal and André Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When André Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Gil Vicente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Pimenta couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Fc Vila Nova's Emílio Mourão got control of the ball when Enzo Vides tried to sneak it across the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Gil Vicente's Enzo Vides nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emílio Mourão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. André Pimenta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emílio Mourão came out and tried to block the shot, but André Pimenta slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 34th minute. In the 42nd minute, André Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fc Vila Nova's goalkeeper couldn't reach when André Pimenta 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Pimenta was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Fc Vila Nova got a corner. Gil Vicente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hermano Nunes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rui Pinhal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jacinto Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Fc Vila Nova's goal looked a bit too open when André Pimenta came free, but Emílio Mourão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Fc Vila Nova defense, Homero Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emílio Mourão. The Fc Vila Nova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emílio Mourão should have stopped the shot. In the 80th minute André Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Mourão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emílio Mourão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After having played for 84 minutes, Enzo Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gil Vicente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enzo Vides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute André Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Mourão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emílio Mourão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Pimenta in the 92nd minute of play. André Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. André Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gil Vicente had played much better football throughout.
