David Trigueiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gusmão Teles having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Trigueiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, David Trigueiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Isidoro Moutinho charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidoro Moutinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. David Trigueiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Palmiro Bragança kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amável Anjos during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice moves Enzo Palhares could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Paulo Malafaia however easily saved by the left post. After 83 played minutes Roots got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Brás. After a defensive mix-up in Roots's zone, Enzo Palhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Malafaia came out of the goal and Enzo Palhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Enzo Palhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Malafaia having to make a save. Paulo Malafaia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolau Valadão, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute Gustavo Novais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Malafaia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Lagoas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Roots.
