Caldas da Rainha SC's Hermes Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Martins in the 17th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Basílio Martins put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Hermes Toscano. Hermes Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Delgado in the 29th minute of the match. Hermes Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Delgado in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the Caldas da Rainha SC defense, Basílio Martins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hermes Toscano. The Caldas da Rainha SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hermes Toscano should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Caldas da Rainha SC's zone, Basílio Martins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermes Toscano came out of the goal and Basílio Martins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basílio Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermes Toscano having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Micael Teixeira in the 52nd minute of play forced Odeceixe FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute, Micael Teixeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amadeu Moura was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 56th minute, Hélder Delgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Odeceixe FC booed when Caldas da Rainha SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adérito Caeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basílio Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Hermes Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, Odeceixe FC's Daniel Ribeiro tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Odeceixe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Patrício came free, but Amadeu Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Moura prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Micael Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Moura having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Joaquim Perdigão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caldas da Rainha SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Perdigão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Fontes lost his temper 94 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Odeceixe FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Caldas da Rainha SC:s goal. The Caldas da Rainha SC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Odeceixe FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Odeceixe FC.
