The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Campino FC got a freekick which was hit by João Faria. Benedita's Cristóvão Guterres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Lopes in the 5th minute of play. Cristóvão Guterres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cláudio Garcia struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Cristóvão Guterres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campino FC. Cristóvão Guterres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Lopes in the 14th minute of the match. Cristóvão Guterres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Manuel Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amílcar Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Raul Miranda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristóvão Guterres was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Olavo Carvalheira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute, Manuel Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristóvão Guterres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Lopes in the 34th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cláudio Garcia in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristóvão Guterres saved Benedita from getting behind. Cristóvão Guterres came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Campino FC's Manuel Lopes. But to his dismay, Manuel Lopes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cláudio Garcia was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Campino FC's Cristóvão Guterres threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jaime Andrade, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Garcia in the 55th minute of play forced Benedita's goalkeeper Cristóvão Guterres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Benedita's goalkeeper Cristóvão Guterres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manuel Lopes. Cristóvão Guterres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Lopes in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Cláudio Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes in the game, Cláudio Garcia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cristóvão Guterres having to interfere. Cristóvão Guterres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Cláudio Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Campino FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Garcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristóvão Guterres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristóvão Guterres was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cláudio Garcia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 77 minute of play. When Campino FC's Manuel Lopes, in the 81st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Campino FC. When Manuel Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Campino FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Lopes couldn't finish the play. 84 minutes into the match, Benedita's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Garcia came free, but Cristóvão Guterres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
