FCDiogo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Mouricao the free kick. Durval Carmona's late challenge caught a FCDiogo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durval Carmona helped the player get up and apologised. Durval Carmona hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Graciano Bessa got free with Miguel Padilha in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Normando Garcez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Normando Garcez in the 35th minute of play forced SC Mouricao's goalkeeper Valdemar Cortez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hugo Lameirinhas fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FCDiogo's protests and gave Hugo Lameirinhas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Mouricao booed when FCDiogo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Lameirinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, SC Mouricao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Tomé to maneuver through the defense. Frederico Salvado got a throw-in 45 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Júlio Matos. The SC Mouricao players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FCDiogo were winning 0-2.

Valdemar Cortez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Almiro Cordeiro in the 56th minute.
