In the 18th match minute, Alvorninha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Alvorninha's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Parente came free, but Alfredo Veríssimo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Veríssimo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Parente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabiano Antas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Veríssimo having to interfere. João Lemos kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alvorninha's zone, Celso Parente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Veríssimo came out of the goal and Celso Parente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horácio Campelo to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivan Coutinho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Valério Mourinho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Parente in the 58th minute of play forced Alvorninha's goalkeeper Alfredo Veríssimo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Horácio Campelo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ivan Coutinhos short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Valério Mourinho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Valério Mourinho was a little too slow when Horácio Campelo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Lemos during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th minute, Celso Parente got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Celso Parente fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Lorde's protests and gave Celso Parente a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Lorde getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Celso Parente hit a great ball. Valério Mourinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Coutinho in the 100th minute. The Alvorninha supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alvorninha would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
