Lamares FC's Mário Caetano shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 8th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Joel Godinho but with some difficulty. In the 13th match minute, Lamares FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Caetano to maneuver through the defense. If João Poças had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Poças sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lamares FC's Rui Menezes got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Entroncamento's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Durval Marinho 32 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 36th minute, Artur Couto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustavo Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Joel Godinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Marinho in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artur Couto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Durval Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Godinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durval Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Godinho having to interfere. A collision led to Lamares FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Mário Caetano hit a great ball. Rui Menezes struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Joel Godinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lamares FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgílio Pedroso during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Entroncamento getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Virgílio Pedroso hit a great ball. After 76 played minutes, Lamares FC's Zeferino Caldeira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joel Godinho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lamares FC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Marinho in the 80th minute of play forced Entroncamento's goalkeeper Joel Godinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur Couto scored 1-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustavo Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Artur Couto came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Entroncamento fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Couto couldn't finish the play. After 90 played minutes Lamares FC got a freekick which was hit by Mário Caetano. After having played for 93 minutes, Durval Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lamares FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durval Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Menezes in the 95th minute of play forced Entroncamento's goalkeeper Joel Godinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
