Eusébio Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusébio Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Bigas's Eusébio Castro got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Emílio Moniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Bigas's Lúcio Fontes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Emílio Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lúcio Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Emílio Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, André Faro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Bigas's Lúcio Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Moniz in the 39th minute of play. Lúcio Fontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emílio Moniz's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Miguel Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vasco Gonçalves made a kick off. Francisco Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Bigas booed when Maios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Faro hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute Francisco Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emílio Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. SC Bigas's Lúcio Fontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save SC Bigas from getting a goal against them. Diamantino Leiria hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Miguel Borges scored 2-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lúcio Fontes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With 78 minutes on the clock, Adelino Leite commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of SC Bigas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Maios:s goal. A hard shot 85 in the game by Miguel Borges from a close distance when the talented Lúcio Fontes managed to make a qualified save. SC Bigas's players were relieved. Lúcio Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Moniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. If Emílio Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Fontes having to interfere. With a little luck, SC Bigas's Lúcio Fontes got control of the ball when Miguel Borges tried to sneak it across the goal line. The SC Bigas support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
