The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes in the game, Rodrigo Faria fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Amável Carvalhal having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Rodrigo Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amável Carvalhal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If André Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vaca Malhada FC's Amável Carvalhal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Faria in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 95th minute, André Nascimento made a precise shot to the right of Amável Carvalhal. Vaca Malhada FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Alvados fully deserved thier win.
