António Sá tried in the 10th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Aparício Franco a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as UD Malha-Vacas's Mário Marques slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aparício Franco. That made the score 2-0 after 14 minutes of play. After 18 minutes, Tomé Vargas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Quinta and the UD Malha-Vacas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, SC Quinta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Vargas to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SC Quinta booed when UD Malha-Vacas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Casado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Álvaro Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the SC Quinta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Pimenta couldn't finish the play. A collision led to UD Malha-Vacas getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Ramiro Resende hit a great ball. Adélio Zarco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Álvaro Pimenta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durval Gameiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Renato Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aparício Franco having to interfere. UD Malha-Vacas's Adélio Zarco got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Herberto Coutinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Quinta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. UD Malha-Vacas's Durval Gameiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Valadão in the 47th minute of play. Durval Gameiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mário Marques made a kick off. After 93 minutes of play, UD Malha-Vacas's Renato Antunes made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aparício Franco was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Quinta's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
