The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Azelha FC booed when SC Moliana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio Câmara didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Moliana's Fábio Câmara got a free kick in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Amável Diegues notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Azelha FC's Cesário Costa. Cesário Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Amável Diegues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamilton Calçada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolau Borges having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Alves in the 36th minute of play forced Azelha FC's goalkeeper Cesário Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Nivaldo Balsemão sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cesário Costa skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Alves in the 47th minute of play forced Azelha FC's goalkeeper Cesário Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Azelha FC's Carlos Mota was substituted for Éder Lobo. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hamilton Calçada stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wilson Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 58 minutes, Hamilton Calçada made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. SC Moliana's Nicolau Borges tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 61 minutes into the match, Azelha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Alves came free, but Cesário Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 65 minutes, Wilson Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Moliana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilson Alves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the SC Moliana defense, Hamilton Calçada kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicolau Borges. The SC Moliana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolau Borges should have stopped the shot. Amável Diegues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Cesário Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilson Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolau Borges prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Azelha FC's Cesário Costa got control of the ball when Wilson Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Azelha FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Moliana had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
