Spectators: 7674 (Terracing: 5756, Seating: 1765, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Samuel Gois kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute Samuel Gois shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almiro Caneira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo Saraiva in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Santiago saved MTK from getting behind. Lúcio Parente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the MTK defense, Lúcio Parente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Santiago. The MTK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Santiago should have stopped the shot. Lúcio Parente struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Carlos Santiago didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvogas. 17 minutes into the game, Aristides Borba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alvogas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MTK the free kick. Leonel Esteves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Almiro Caneira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of MTK booed when Alvogas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério Liberato didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Leonel Esteves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Almiro Caneira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 33 minutes, João Nóbrega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MTK and the Alvogas players grew even worse after the yellow card. João Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Alvogas's Lúcio Parente nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Santiago made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. If Jairo Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Santiago having to interfere. Carlos Santiago came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Alvogas's Lúcio Parente. But to his dismay, Lúcio Parente quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jairo Saraiva to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Lúcio Parente got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Lúcio Parente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Jairo Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvogas's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo Saraiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Santiago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Santiago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Parente in the 65th minute of play. When Jairo Saraiva came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Alvogas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo Saraiva couldn't finish the play. After 67 played minutes Alvogas got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Liberato. Samuel Gois sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute, Miguel Saraiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MTK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Jairo Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlos Santiago acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 81st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Augusto Eiró. Jairo Saraiva in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Santiago, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Almiro Caneira came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by MTK's José Ribas. But to his dismay, José Ribas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. When Lúcio Parente came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Alvogas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Parente couldn't finish the play. Miguel Saraiva kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Carlos Santiago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Saraiva in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Lúcio Parente got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 98th minute of the match Augusto Eiró shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Santiago showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MTK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Alvogas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
