The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, ATI QB's Geraldo Eanes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Șerban Iovanovici. Șerban Iovanovici yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Geraldo Eanes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Șerban Iovanovici made a huge save. In the 18th minute Patrício Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Șerban Iovanovici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Șerban Iovanovici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Viana in the 21st minute of play. Afonso Sesimbra charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Sesimbra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Alcateia FC booed when ATI QB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Sesimbra didn't get a good kick on the ball. ATI QB's Cristóvão Palha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Gameiro in the 27th minute of play. Cristóvão Palha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hipólito Gama in the 28th minute of the match. Șerban Iovanovici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Viana in the 32nd minute of play. If Gervásio Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute, Caetano Fidalgo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Șerban Iovanovici was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 46th minute, Gervásio Raposo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristóvão Palha was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gervásio Pedroso to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gervásio Pedroso got free with Cristóvão Palha in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 58th minute, Raul Ruas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gervásio Pedroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Cristóvão Palha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Alcateia FC's Tiago Gameiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristóvão Palha. That made the score 2-2 after 66 minutes of play. Virgílio Viana scored 3-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Șerban Iovanovici, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 79 minutes into the game, Tiago Gameiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Cristóvão Palha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. ATI QB's Virgílio Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dionisio Lugo charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dionisio Lugo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dionisio Lugo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Eanes in the 84th minute of play forced Alcateia FC's goalkeeper Șerban Iovanovici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes ATI QB got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Sesimbra. After 92 played minutes ATI QB got a freekick which was hit by Raul Ruas. Cristóvão Palha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hipólito Gama in the 92nd minute. Gervásio Pedroso scored 3-4 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristóvão Palha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The ATI QB supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Alcateia FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Alcateia FC.
