In the 19th minute Aparício Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Ponte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Galáticos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Brites came free, but Alex Ponte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Aparício Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Ponte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto Vilas Boas charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience was convinced that Abílio Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristóvão Esteves was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Abílio Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Cristóvão Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Vilas Boas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After recieving a nice pass, Galáticos FC's Hugo Brandão tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abílio Cunha to make the kick off. Alex Ponte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aparício Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Jorge Monteiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Alex Ponte made a huge save. Hugo Brandão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cristóvão Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abílio Cunha in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristóvão Esteves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 68th minute of the match Cláudio Ribas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristóvão Esteves skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Abílio Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galáticos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abílio Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 71 minutes, Fabrício Fagundes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galáticos FC and the Green Lions players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 71 played minutes Galáticos FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Fagundes. When Galáticos FC's Abílio Cunha in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abílio Cunha couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute, Abílio Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 93 minutes, Adérito Colaço managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galáticos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adérito Colaço was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Green Lions's Cristóvão Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abílio Cunha in the 95th minute of play. Galáticos FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
