SCPUMPKINS's Raul Telinhos got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in SCPUMPKINS's zone, Pedro Mesquita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Macieira came out of the goal and Pedro Mesquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Isidro Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Isidro Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Isidro Guerreiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Macieira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Vicente Macieira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isidro Guerreiro's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Raul Telinhos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Eliseu Franco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After a rather tough play, SCPUMPKINS's André Torcato got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 64th minute Pedro Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Macieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseu Quental sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Metropolis 1928 CC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Pedro Mesquita hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Gustavo Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eliseu Franco was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 79th minute, Gustavo Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Gustavo Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliseu Franco. Metropolis 1928 CC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidro Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Macieira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Metropolis 1928 CC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SCPUMPKINS.
