The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel Tomé fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Castro having to interfere. Idalécio Quinaz charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Idalécio Quinaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of COELHONE booed when Purgacal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Idalécio Quinaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Caio Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute António Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caio Oliveira's late challenge caught a COELHONE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caio Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Purgacal getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Caio Oliveira hit a great ball. Xavier Damásio might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Palmiro Bezerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xavier Damásio ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39thth minute of the game António Freire who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but COELHONE's Diogo Castro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Idalécio Quinaz hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonel Tomé was the one to do the kick off. If Eurico Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diogo Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Tomé, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, Lisandro Lages hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. COELHONE's Xavier Damásio got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palmiro Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Mafra in the 78th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, António Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot. Purgacal's supporters rose to their feet, but António Freire was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diogo Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xavier Damásio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to COELHONE getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Joaquim Silveira hit a great ball. Purgacal succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though COELHONE had controlled the match.
