Eliseu Franco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Eliseu Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute Geraldo Eanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Franco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, ATI QB's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Mesquita came free, but Cristóvão Palha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ATI QB getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Afonso Sesimbra hit a great ball. After 28 played minutes Metropolis 1928 CC got a freekick which was hit by Higino Sanches. Geraldo Eanes came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eliseu Franco could save by the left post. Silvano Caeiro scored 3-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eliseu Franco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geraldo Eanes got free with Eliseu Franco in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eliseu Franco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Viana in the 41st minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isidro Guerreiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Higino Sanches charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Higino Sanches the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 56 minutes into the match, Virgílio Viana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliseu Franco. Metropolis 1928 CC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgílio Viana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 61 played minutes Metropolis 1928 CC got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Vilhena. Metropolis 1928 CC's Eliseu Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Eanes in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, ATI QB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delfim Delgado to maneuver through the defense. Dércio Luz, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. ATI QB's Cristóvão Palha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidro Guerreiro in the 73rd minute of play. When Patrício Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the ATI QB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrício Cabral couldn't finish the play. Eliseu Franco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geraldo Eanes went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Virgílio Viana scored 7-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eliseu Franco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th minute, Patrício Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eliseu Franco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Eanes in the 92nd minute of the match. Afonso Sesimbra's late challenge caught a Metropolis 1928 CC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Sesimbra helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes ATI QB got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Sesimbra. Eliseu Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ATI QB walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
