In a very dangerous position, a player in GD Ribeirão fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! Peter Zander had in the 6thth minute some difficulties stopping Jacinto Cerqueira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Octávio Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubim Ponte in the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Clube Futebol Belenenses's Jacinto Cerqueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Zander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rubim Ponte scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Octávio Ferraz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rubim Ponte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Octávio Ferraz having to make a save. Octávio Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubim Ponte, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Jacinto Cerqueira's late challenge caught a GD Ribeirão's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Cerqueira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th match minute, Clube Futebol Belenenses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Cerqueira to maneuver through the defense. After 26 minutes of play, GD Ribeirão's Rubim Ponte made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Octávio Ferraz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peter Zander stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Cerqueira's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Peter Zander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Cerqueira in the 35th minute of the match. Clube Futebol Belenenses's Octávio Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubim Ponte in the 36th minute of play. Octávio Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Alcântara in the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Clube Futebol Belenenses's Elias Serpa got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacinto Cerqueira was the one to do the kick off. Rubim Ponte's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Octávio Ferraz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Futebol Belenenses's zone, Lúcio Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octávio Ferraz came out of the goal and Lúcio Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. GD Ribeirão's Rubim Ponte got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th match minute, Clube Futebol Belenenses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Fontes to maneuver through the defense. GD Ribeirão's Peter Zander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Cerqueira in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Rubim Ponte notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Clube Futebol Belenenses's Octávio Ferraz. Octávio Ferraz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 67 minutes, Lúcio Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GD Ribeirão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rubim Ponte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Octávio Ferraz made a huge save. In the 75th minute Leal Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Zander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Jacinto Cerqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Futebol Belenenses's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Cerqueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Zander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 78 played minutes Clube Futebol Belenenses got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Figueira. Amadeu Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Octávio Ferraz made a huge save. In the 82nd minute Lúcio Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octávio Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rubim Ponte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Clube Futebol Belenenses fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. GD Ribeirão were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
