Serafim Júdice hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Peter Zander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Raposo in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rubim Ponte in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Honorato Álvares saved CASTROFOOT from getting behind. After 15 played minutes CASTROFOOT got a freekick which was hit by Jordão Baptista. Honorato Álvares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubim Ponte's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. A collision led to CASTROFOOT getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jordão Baptista hit a great ball. Lúcio Alcântara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Honorato Álvares. CASTROFOOT's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rubim Ponte scored 0-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Honorato Álvares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rubim Ponte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute Rubim Ponte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorato Álvares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubim Ponte might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Honorato Álvares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rubim Ponte ran back to his position shaking his head.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rubim Ponte was the one to do the kick off. CASTROFOOT's Honorato Álvares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save CASTROFOOT from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute, Amadeu Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Rubim Ponte managed to get in a good position for a shot. GD Ribeirão's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubim Ponte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorato Álvares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th minute, Lúcio Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GD Ribeirão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After a rather tough play, CASTROFOOT's Osvaldo Varela got a free kick in the 66th minute. Adriano Vilas Boas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Peter Zander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of CASTROFOOT booed when GD Ribeirão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Honorato Álvares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rubim Ponte in the 79th minute. GD Ribeirão's Darwin Good was substituted for Ukko Määttänen. Rubim Ponte placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Honorato Álvares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rubim Ponte in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute, Darwin Good fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 94th minute of the match, Rubim Ponte got a very nice opportunity to score, but Honorato Álvares was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, CASTROFOOT's Honorato Álvares got control of the ball when Rubim Ponte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubim Ponte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Honorato Álvares made a huge save.
