An unexpected shot in the 8th minute by Laércio Taveira got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Manuel Taborda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sálvio Marinho having to interfere. Severino Câmara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juvenal Serpa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, Laércio Taveira notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of THRASH ATTACK F.C.'s Severino Câmara. Severino Câmara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 29 minutes, Juvenal Serpa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botanorrego FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juvenal Serpa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Laércio Taveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botanorrego FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Taveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Câmara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juvenal Serpa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Laércio Taveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juvenal Serpa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Severino Câmara having to make a save. Severino Câmara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Serpa in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Celso Leme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. THRASH ATTACK F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botanorrego FC the free kick. Celso Leme hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laércio Taveira to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Juvenal Serpa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Severino Câmara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Laércio Taveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Câmara having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Laércio Taveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severino Câmara was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Severino Câmara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Tavares in the 63rd minute of play. Laércio Taveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Severino Câmara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 65th minute of the match Celso Leme completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Celso Leme a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 66th match minute, THRASH ATTACK F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Leme to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, THRASH ATTACK F.C.'s Manuel Taborda got a free kick in the 73rd minute. When Hélio Saraiva fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored THRASH ATTACK F.C.'s protests and gave Hélio Saraiva a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Botanorrego FC booed when THRASH ATTACK F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laércio Taveira succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. Manuel Taborda hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. When Laércio Taveira came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Botanorrego FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio Taveira couldn't finish the play. THRASH ATTACK F.C.'s Severino Câmara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Serpa in the 91st minute of play. Juvenal Serpa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Severino Câmara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Botanorrego FC were the better team. Botanorrego FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
