Zarco Couto was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Artur Quintanilha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Artur Quintanilha really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 22 minutes into the match, Artur Quintanilha notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Homer FC's Zarco Couto. Zarco Couto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Máximo Avelar in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zarco Couto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Álvaro Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacob Veríssimo in the 35th minute of the match. Nurkan Ülke hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes, Homer FC's Hermenegildo Corte-Real shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Álvaro Infante came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Homer FC reached it. FC Portuense's Álvaro Infante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermenegildo Corte-Real in the 38th minute of play. Jacob Veríssimo kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. If Artur Quintanilha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zarco Couto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Máximo Avelar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-1 in the 44 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artur Quintanilha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zarco Couto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Artur Quintanilha went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Alfredo Águas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Artur Quintanilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zarco Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 67 played minutes FC Portuense got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Lobato. Artur Quintanilha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zarco Couto having to interfere. After having played for 72 minutes, Máximo Avelar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Portuense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Máximo Avelar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Rareș Bobocea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Álvaro Infante. That made the score 5-2 in the 74 minute of play. Zarco Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Quintanilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Artur Quintanilha put it in 6-2 from a short distance just to the right of Zarco Couto. After 88 played minutes FC Portuense got a freekick which was hit by Luís Lameirinhas. In the 93rd minute Jacob Veríssimo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Infante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Homer FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
