António Guerreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Mendes in the 14th minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Estevão Amaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. DESPORTIVO DE ALCAINS's supporters rose to their feet, but Estevão Amaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iker Peru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. António Guerreiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Bernard Mietus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Samorim FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DESPORTIVO DE ALCAINS the free kick. Braulio Chorche's late challenge caught a DESPORTIVO DE ALCAINS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Chorche helped the player get up and apologised. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xavier Neiva to make the kick off. When Alex Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samorim FC's protests and gave Alex Mendes a yellow card for diving instead.
