The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Rebelo during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Águia do Norte FC booed when FC HMR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Rebelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adalberto Soares's late challenge caught a Águia do Norte FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adalberto Soares helped the player get up and apologised. Adalberto Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Mariano Andujar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Vieira in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Águia do Norte FC's goalkeeper Mariano Andujar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adalberto Soares. Alexandre Jesus hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Evandro Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Samuel Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariano Andujar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Vieira in the 24th minute of the match. Samuel Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC HMR's zone, Lúcio Ramalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Teixeira came out of the goal and Lúcio Ramalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adalberto Soares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Mariano Andujar made a huge save. Lúcio Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd match minute, Águia do Norte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magno Matos during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC HMR's Valdemar Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evandro Cunha made a kick off. Evandro Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 53 minutes into the game, Evandro Cunha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Samuel Teixeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Samuel Teixeira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evandro Cunha showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 62 minute of play. In the 70th match minute, FC HMR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Trindade to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Evandro Cunha made a precise shot to the right of Samuel Teixeira. FC HMR's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 87th minute, Evandro Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th match minute, FC HMR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Rebelo to maneuver through the defense. A sloppy throw-in by Hélder Santana in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Águia do Norte FC's Álvaro Graça. Álvaro Graça struck a weak shot in the 95th minute.
